Advanced Radar System (ARS) 6XX
The latest generation of short-range radar, planned for 2023, is the SRR 6XX. Compared to the previous models, this series offers design changes, both externally and technically. Technically, the concept of multi-compatibility and communication with other sensors has been improved. This series therefore has the option of creating a 360-degree view of the vehicle and, by calculating this information, presents a variety of features. This sensor is attached behind the bumpers, one in each corner. The frequency range modulates between 76-81 GHz (77GHz). This system is also compatible with motorcycles and has a range of over 180 meters.
Advanced Radar System (ARS) 540
The ARS540 is a high level long-range radar, offers many technical innovations and very high performance. With a range of up to 300m, this sensor brings fully autonomous driving one step closer. The system consists of a housing, a transmitting/receiving antenna, a main circuit board with circuit electronics and processors, as well as communication interfaces. Due to the antenna arrangement and a frequency range of 76-77Ghz, this system has a very precise determination of distance, position and classification of objects. Due to the high technical performance, this has a power loss of about 23W. Communication with the vehicle takes place via CAN, FlexRay and Ethernet. Due to high quality and the FuSa measures, this sensor meets the requirements of EuNCAP and thus achieves five stars.
Multi Function Camera (MFC) 5XX
The Multi Function Camera (MFC) 5XX series were presented at the IAA 2017. The assistance system is based on one passive sensor (imager). The main power of a camera is to detect reflected light in visible light spectrum (extern light source needed). With this feature the sensor has the possibility to detect colours, even if the object is printed and flat (e.g. road signs and lane markings). The view field of the camera is limited horizontal to 125° (effective) and vertical to 60° (effective). This system has the possibility to calculate complex mathematical functions. If a vehicle does use more sensoric like sattelite cameras and radar, this can be fusioned with a central ADAS ECU (ADCU).
